Ismay

Ismay's Story

Ismay was 7 when I bought the farm and left my ordinary lives in West Sussex behind. She hadn’t been around other animals before so was thrown in at the deep end when I started Far From – and she did amazingly.

Her calm manner made her no threat to even the most timid animal. She loves people and enjoys greeting our guests. Her favourite animal on the farm is Wilden the feral farm cat – she adores him and seems to prefer his company and playfulness over a walk.

When Mable the sheep arrived as a little lamb, we had her in the house with us and the dogs. Ismay was wonderful with her from the beginning and even helped me out lamb-sitting if I had to get some work done.

She’s always been our little angel (unlike Cossy!) and never gets up to any mischief. She is the easiest, sweetest dog you could ever ask for, and she can’t wait to meet you!

How You Can Help

We opened the Far From Holiday Retreat in order to provide us with funds to enable us to continue our work with these beautiful animals. All new arrivals must be microchipped and passported (and normally they aren’t), vaccinated three times, rasped, wormed and given a general health check by the vet – with the majority requiring many more visits to ensure that they are happy and healthy.

If you are unable to come and visit us, you can still help us to continue our work by supporting us financially. Please visit our gofundme page below.

Many thanks
